Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets successfully neutralized a group of Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists, resulting in a mass funeral held by the surviving fighters on the outskirts of Kwalaram, Borno State, in the North East of Nigeria.

The terrorists fell victim to a series of airstrikes executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai on July 29, 2023, between 0830hrs – 0900hrs in Jibularam and Kwalaram.

Intelligence sources indicated that the terrorists had gathered in these areas to plan attacks against the Nigerian military, leading to the deployment of NAF jets to counter the threat.

The air strikes proved effective, resulting in significant casualties among ISWAP members, and the destruction of their properties. The surviving fighters held a mass burial for the deceased terrorists on the following day, July 30.
