In a remarkable tale of triumph over adversity, Awa’aji Zanna Damasak, a young Nigerian hailing from the war-torn town of Damasak in Borno State, has achieved a First Class degree at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies. 

His inspiring success story stands as a testament to the resilience and potential that may have otherwise been lost in the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Damasak, once the thriving headquarters of Mobbar Local Government Area, was brutally displaced by the insurgency in 2014. The town’s educational institutions suffered significant damage, leaving young minds in despair. However, Awa’aji Zanna Damasak refused to let adversity define his future.

With unwavering determination, Awa’aji pursued a degree in Maritime Operations at the Indian Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies. Despite the challenges he faced due to his tumultuous background, he emerged as a shining star among his peers, graduating with a remarkable First Class distinction.

Awa’aji’s academic achievement not only demonstrates his personal brilliance but also highlights the immense potential that exists within the youth of Borno State.
