Vinod Khosla, a super successful Silicon Valley investor who supports OpenAI, recently gave some awesome advice to college students at a tech conference. He talked about their worries about AI taking over jobs and making their education useless.

Khosla, who started a big computer company and invests in cool new ideas, said it’s super important to get a wide education. Even the stuff he learned in electrical engineering a while back isn’t all that useful anymore.

Khosla thinks AI will replace a lot of jobs in the next 10 years, even fancy ones like accounting and medicine. He gave the example of oncologists, saying that smart machines with lots of knowledge and fewer mistakes could do their job.

Khosla also mentioned that technology has always changed jobs in the past. Like, back in the day, most people worked in agriculture, but now it’s only a small percentage.

To get ready for the future, Khosla told students to explore lots of different subjects in college. By learning about many things, they can be flexible and adapt to the fast changes happening in the world.

Even though people worry about jobs disappearing, Khosla had a positive prediction too! He thinks AI will make countries rich and their economies will grow a lot. And when that happens, he believes that having a job might become optional.
