Marte, Borno State — In a significant victory against the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) terrorist groups, the Nigerian Airforce, as part of Operation Hadin Kai, executed airstrikes on Oct. 26, resulting in the loss of numerous fighters.

The strikes targeted Tudun Baranga and Jubilaram, situated on the outskirts of Lake Chad.

According to intelligence sources, the airstrikes were meticulously planned following confirmatory intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which indicated the presence of terrorists in the targeted areas.

At Tudun Baranga, ISWAP fighters were observed seeking shelter under shrubs upon sighting the fighter jet. The terrorists were engaged by the aircraft, resulting in the elimination of several militants and the destruction of structures housing their concealed logistics.

The sources further revealed that the targets at Tudun Baranga were successfully hit, engulfing them in flames. The aftermath of the airstrike witnessed chaotic scenes as surviving terrorists sought refuge under nearby trees before ultimately fleeing the area.

Similarly, in Jubilaram, the combat aircraft launched a strike on ISWAP fighters who were traveling in canoes. The attack resulted in the complete destruction of the canoes and the elimination of the terrorists on board.

The Nigerian Airforce’s successful operations against ISWAP mark a significant blow to the terrorist organization, further bolstering the ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in the region.
