In a significant blow to the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP), the Air Component of the North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai successfully conducted a deadly air raid, resulting in the elimination of approximately 17 ISWAP fighters.
The operation took place in the Damboa Local Government area of Borno state, located in the northeastern region of Nigeria.
According to reliable intelligence sources, the airstrikes were executed on November 8, 2023, at approximately 09:00 hours in the AT AJIGIN area within the TIMBUKTU TRIANGLE. The precision-guided and intelligence-led attack was meticulously coordinated by Major General Gold Chibuisi, the Theatre Commander of the North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai.
The decision to strike was made after surveillance operations detected a sizable gathering of terrorists who were planning an assault on troops stationed in WAJIROKO, Damboa.
The air operation proved to be highly successful, with the fighter aircraft effectively neutralizing three of the terrorists’ guntrucks. In a display of precision and firepower, the fighter jet dealt a devastating blow to the terrorists’ position, despite one of the gun trucks retaliating by firing at the aircraft. The gun truck was ultimately struck and completely destroyed by the fighter jet.
In a revealing account, a woman who managed to escape from the Ajigin terrorists’ enclave after the airstrikes surrendered to the troops of the 21 Armored Brigade in Bama. She disclosed that the airstrikes resulted in the death of 17 terrorists, while several others sustained injuries.
