LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) — Jaan Roose, a 31-year-old Estonian slackliner and Guinness World Records holder, showcased his nerves of steel on Thursday as he walked on a rope from Sterling Towers to Onome Rig in Marina, Lagos State.

Roose, a three-time world champion and holder of numerous world records, made history as the first athlete to successfully execute a double backflip on a slackline. His gravity-defying talents have earned him international recognition.

Slacklining, a sport that involves walking on a rope suspended above the ground, is not commonly practiced in Nigeria. However, Roose is introducing the exhilarating activity to the country, using it for balance training, recreation, and moving meditation.

During his visit to Lagos, Roose is taking his skills to new heights. With the support of the Lagos Government and in collaboration with the Lagos Safety Commission, the record holder embarked on a daring journey, navigating train tracks and bridges, transforming the state into his awe-inspiring playground.
