The Nigerian Air Force conducted a successful operation, targeting and eliminating a boat carrying ISWAP terrorists on the waters of Lake Chad.
The airstrike took place on Nov.18 as part of ongoing efforts to combat extremist activities around the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. The airstrike operation took place in Baranga village, located on the fringes of Lake Chad.
According to intelligence sources, “the opportunity to strike arose when a number of terrorists were spotted traveling in canoes during an armed reconnaissance mission in the area.”
The Air Force promptly engaged the target, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists who were aboard the canoes. Furthermore, nearby structures were also targeted and destroyed, causing them to catch fire, potentially including some of the terrorists’ logistics storages.
The sources confirmed that “this air raid was part of the ongoing air offensive against terrorist elements in the NorthEast region.” The incident reaffirmed the Nigerian military’s commitment to combating extremism and ensuring the safety and security of the country.
