The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa, dispelled rumors of his untimely demise on Monday, addressing a false report circulated by a national daily that had claimed his passing.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has categorically rejected the misleading news, branding it as unfortunate, unethical, and without credibility.
In a press release issued on Tuesday in Abuja, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, confirmed that the CDS, Gen. CG Musa, is in good health. He emphasized, “To put the records straight, the CDS is alive and hearty.”
The Chief of Defence Staff, who had recently returned from an official assignment abroad, is reported to be back at work, invigorated and more determined than ever to continue his distinguished leadership of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
In the wake of the misinformation, the newspaper retracted its erroneous report and extended its sincere apologies to Gen. Musa, his family, and the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Gen. Musa was appointed as CDS on 19 June by President Bola Tinubu and was promoted from the rank of major general to lieutenant general on 31 July.
