Nigerian Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has called for increased air support as the Nigerian Army concludes its two-week exercise, “Operation Mugun Bugu,” the second of its kind in 2023.
During the operation, troops conducted a weapons test in the primary forest of the army barracks in Kontagora town, Naija state.
Represented by Major General Jal Jimoh, the CDS emphasized the Air Force’s vital role in ensuring the campaign’s success against terrorism. He urged Nigerians to unite in sharing information to combat destabilizing forces.

Representing the head of the Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Major General SG Musa highlighted the specialized training received by the troops, equipping them with the skills needed to confront security challenges.
Security analyst Dr. Yahuza Ahmed Getso stressed the importance of community cooperation to identify individuals aiding the bandits, who are impeding progress.
The operation’s successful completion represents a significant step in the fight against insurgency in Nigeria.
