The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation HADIN Kai has reported significant progress in its air interdiction operations targeting the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists near Lake Chad.

On December 16, the ATF conducted precision air strikes on ISWAP camps located at Bukar Mairam in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to intelligence sources, the strikes were meticulously planned and carried out in response to reports indicating that the insurgents had established a training camp in the village and were assembling in preparation for an assault on Nigerian troops in the Lake Chad region.

The sources revealed that the fighter aircraft precisely targeted the identified locations, effectively neutralizing a considerable number of ISWAP militants, with only a handful managing to escape the area.

Additionally, several of their logistical assets and other properties were destroyed in the operation.
