Yobe State’s Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, on the passing of his chief spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau.
In a statement that highlighted the career and contributions of the late Gusau, Governor Buni paid tribute to a man he described as a highly dedicated public servant, noting his unwavering commitment and steadfast dedication in serving his principal.
“Malam Isa Gusau stood out as a beacon of professionalism, especially during the most challenging periods of security concerns in the Northeast, and in Borno State, in particular,” Governor Buni remarked.
Remembering Gusau’s tenacity and dedication, Governor Buni reflected on the years of service that Malam Isa Gusau committed to the Governor of Borno State and the state’s administration, saying, “His resilience and dedication to his duties will not be forgotten.”
“At this moment of loss, my thoughts are with His Excellency, Gov. Zulum, the government and the people of Borno State,” he continued. “We mourn a man whose contributions were pivotal, particularly at a time when his support to the government was most needed.”
Governor Buni offered prayers for the departed, seeking divine forgiveness for any shortcomings and imploring strength for the family to cope with the significant loss.
Malam Isa Gusau had an extensive career in public service, having acted as the Special Adviser on Media to former Governor of Borno State, Vice President Kashim Shettima, before continuing his duties under Governor Zulum for approximately five years.
The Yobe State Government has formally expressed its sympathy, with the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to Gov. Buni, Mamman Mohammed, signing the condolence message.
