In an inspiring act of generosity, Barrister Mohammed Tahir Monguno, the senator representing Borno North Senatorial District, has distributed 110 mini trucks to selected constituents to mitigate the severe economic challenges faced by many in the region.
The elaborate ceremony, which saw the handover of the vehicles, was attended by Governor Zulum, who lauded Senator Monguno’s enduring commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
The senator’s history of over 15 years in the National Assembly is punctuated with numerous initiatives aimed at providing relief and support to those in his constituency, making this latest act of kindness another feather in his cap.

Governor Zulum, in his commendation, highlighted the senator’s extensive contributions, noting that such gestures of generosity have not only won the hearts of the people of Borno but have also garnered appreciation from the highest echelons of government, including the Vice President of Nigeria.
Senator Monguno, humbly attributing his inspiration to the leadership examples set by Governor Zulum and Vice President Kashim Shettima, explained that the donation of the mini trucks is intended to offer a dual benefit: providing a viable means for cheaper mass transit services and alleviating the financial burden on the families of the beneficiaries, who hail from the ten local government areas of Northern Borno District.

Echoing the sentiments of appreciation was the Borno state Speaker, Abdulkarim Lawan, who praised the senator’s consistent efforts in providing various forms of palliative care to his constituents, ranging from scholarships and infrastructure development to economic empowerment initiatives.
The Deputy National Chairman of the APC, Honorable Ali Dalori, also commended Senator Monguno’s exemplary actions, suggesting that such acts of service could significantly reduce the party’s campaign efforts during elections.
In alignment with the senator’s objectives, Governor Zulum revealed that the distribution of the mini trucks is in synergy with the government’s broader development strategy for Northern Borno, a region poised for growth following improvements in security.
The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with gratitude, shared their joy and relief at receiving the vehicles. Waziri Umar and Falmata Kyari, among others, voiced their heartfelt appreciation, seeing the mini trucks as a lifeline that promises to ease the economic hardships that have shadowed their families.

Waziri Umar, now equipped with his own mini van, envisioned a path out of hardship for his family, grateful for the lifeline extended by the senator and Governor Zulum.
Falmata Kyari, a female beneficiary, cherished the day as her happiest, embracing the newfound opportunity to navigate the economic challenges with resilience and determination.
As the keys to the mini trucks changed hands, a spirit of unity and progress permeated the event, underscoring the transformative power of compassion and collective support in fostering resilience within a community facing adversity.
Senator Monguno’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of his constituents, coupled with his proactive approach to addressing economic hardships, stands as a testament to effective leadership and genuine care for those he serves. His actions serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration, illuminating a path toward a more inclusive and prosperous future for all in Borno North Senatorial District.
