The Borno State chapter of the Civil Society Scaling up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) carried out an advocacy at the Borno State Primary Health Care Development Board demanding for the timely release of the state’s nutrition budget. 

CS-SUNN Borno State members, under the leadership of State Coordinator Hajiya Aisha Maidala, emphasized the critical need for the timely release of the nutrition budget to ensure adequate funding for essential nutrition programs in the state. 

“The aim is to improve the health and well-being of the population, especially vulnerable groups who are in dire need of nutrition support,” she said. 

Abdullahi Mahdi, a top official at Borno State Primary Health Care Development Board, acknowledged the efforts of CS-SUNN even as he noted that the Borno state government is committed to the well-being of its citizen while assuring that more attention would be given to all processes that would enhance the wellbeing it’s citizens “including the timely releases of fund for healthcare needs.”
