In a brief ceremony held in Ngurosoye along the Bama-Gwoza road, Zulum announced that the former IDPs are now housed in 500 permanent homes and 1,100 semi-permanent homes. This relocation is part of the state government’s plan to close all existing IDP camps by the end of 2026.

“It is no longer sustainable for the government to provide continuous aid. The goal of this resettlement is to empower people to cultivate their lands and sustain themselves,” Zulum stated, urging returnees to engage in agriculture.

He also revealed plans to construct an additional 500 permanent homes and 2,000 semi-permanent homes in Darajamal village for more Bama IDP camp inmates.
