Held at the Polio EOC to finalize the 2024 immunization scorecard, the meeting aimed to incorporate inputs from media, partners, and other stakeholders into the document.
Chaired by Dr. Ali Danladi Gambo, Senior Technical Advisor for Routine Immunization at the Borno State Primary Healthcare Development Board (BoSPHCDB), the CoP developed the scorecard with support from the African Health Budget Network (AHBN) and AFENET (African Field Epidemiology Network), in collaboration with the BoSPHCDB and other routine immunization partners.
Attendees included Mrs. Ndapaniya Samali Joseph, Director of Finance and Accounts, representing the Executive Secretary of the BoSPHCDB; Mr. Yerwama Tijjani, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics; Mrs. Aisha Othman, Deputy Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics; Alhaji Maina Modu, the State Immunization Officer; and other BoSPHCDB staff. Comrade Abdulkareem Haruna, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), and various media personalities also participated.
The 10-page scorecard was discussed, and stakeholder inputs were recorded for the final document. The finalized scorecard is intended for public consumption and as an advocacy tool for CoP members to address the zero-dose burden in the state.
Dr. Melton Musa, AFENET’s Senior Technical Lead, presented key findings from the AFENET-conducted Decentralized Immunization Monitoring (DIM). Adam Gujja Adam, the CoP Secretariat lead, provided an overview of CoP activities since its inception.
