The Borno State APC E-Registration and Reconciliation Committee has launched a high-stakes offensive to digitize its membership, urging political leaders to take “full ownership” of the exercise as it enters its critical final phase.

Following its inauguration on Monday, January 26, 2026, the committee, led by Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda OFR, has shifted from strategic planning to aggressive field mobilization. The drive aims to significantly boost membership figures through a transparent, inclusive process that aligns with the governance standards of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.

Ambassador Jidda has issued a direct charge to National and State Assembly members, including Senators and House of Representatives members, to lead the enrollment efforts within their respective constituencies. The committee emphasized that the digital database is not just an administrative tool but a cornerstone of the party’s “electoral preparedness.”

“Members of National and State Assemblies, Chairmen of Local Government Councils, and all key stakeholders are strongly urged to take full ownership by providing necessary supports and strengthening mobilization structures,” the statement read.

To ensure results, the committee has established a performance-tracking framework to monitor progress across all senatorial .

A major focus of the merged strategy is overcoming the logistical challenges posed by the National Identification Number (NIN) requirement. Recognizing that rural and “hard-to-reach” communities face significant hurdles, the committee is facilitating collaborations between Local Government Chairmen and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The plan involves deploying proactive local solutions to assist eligible members who lack documentation. Amb. Jidda noted that administrative barriers must not be allowed to disenfranchise supporters, particularly in areas with limited digital infrastructure or security concerns.

To foster a spirit of competition, the committee announced that LGAs demonstrating “innovation and outstanding performance” in surmounting these challenges will be officially recognized and rewarded. This incentive-driven approach is specifically designed to energize the participation of women and youths—groups the party identifies as vital for long-term growth.
“LGAs that demonstrate commitment to overcoming these challenges will be duly recognized,” Jidda added, highlighting that the goal is to create a community-led movement that transcends top-down mandates.

Beyond the numbers, the e-registration exercise is being utilized as a tool for reconciliation. By creating a verifiable, “clean” database, the committee intends to eliminate past grievances related to manual registers and ensure every member has a voice.

As the exercise nears its conclusion, the committee reassured party faithful that all activities remain under the guidance of Governor Zulum. The ultimate objective is to consolidate unity and expand the APC’s base across Borno State, ensuring the party remains a robust and unified force ahead of future political cycles.
